House of Flowers

House of Flowers is a temporary installation that realizes the lower and upper level plans of a forthcoming single-family residence as two sequential gardens of colorful Zinnias. Spaces are organized as a variation of the American Four-Square, which originated through the Midwest Prairie School as a modest prototype in the late 19th century. This project aims to revive the four-square as a contemporary format for efficient, affordable, and sustainable housing using prefabricated elements, innovative materials, and integral landscape design.
